Tournament Details

Background

The FIBA Europe Division C Championships, formerly called the Promotions Cup, is played every two years. Scotland did not participate in the tournament in 2006. We last competed in 2004 and finished third. The 2006 champion was Azerbaijan and they will look to retain their crown.

Dates

Tuesday 17 June to Sunday 22 June. Friday 20 June is a rest day with no team play.

Ticket Information

  • £2 for one day pass, £5 for full tournament pass. Sales outlet information will be forthcoming

Format

  • There will be two pools of four teams. Pools will be released shortly.
  • Each team will play once every day except for Friday 20 June which will be a rest day. Teams will be touring Edinburgh attractions on that day.
  • Each pool will play a round robin with each team playing every other team in the pool once.
  • The top team from pool A will play the second place team from pool B for a place in the Gold Medal Game. The top team from pool B will play the second place team from pool A for the other spot.
  • Remaining teams will play for final tournament placement.
